Organizations such as Grameen Phone have shown how mobile phones can provide a positive impact in the developing world. In many regions, mobile phones provide the first connectivity to the outside world and enable such diverse services as: money transfer, medical record-keeping, commodity price updates, literacy education, and election monitoring.
